The seabird’s cry comes from an elemental layer in the story of the world. Over the last couple of decades, modern science has begun to understand their epic voyages, their astonishing abilities to navigate for tens of thousands of miles on featureless seas, their ability to.

Current and historical information on colony locations and estimates of breeding seabirds were compiled into databases, for all known seabird colonies in Oregon.

A total of colonies were identified, and maps and data tables for each colony are presented in this catalog. Seabird eggs have also long been an important source of food for sailors undertaking long sea voyages, as well as being taken when settlements grow in areas near a colony.

Eggers from San Francisco took almost half a million eggs a year from the Farallon Islands in the midth century, a period in the islands' history from which the seabird.
